November 19, 2001 and finally we're back, having taken most of the summer for gardening and other outside-type stuff. Meanwhile, we went to a small train show, John's been detailing cars and getting track to actually work, and we're officially back to messing with the trains.

The first thing we did is put a skirt on the layout. Now the area looks like a train room as opposed to a junk room! Irene planned to sew it after she bought 50 yards of fabric online - at $2/yard - but she couldn't figure out how to work her sewing machine, so she got this stuff that lets you iron seams together. As always, it's not quite finished...
