Details! Walkways, stairways, handrails, etc., etc.! The following two pictures display John's painstaking detail work. He sits hunched over his desk and occasionally pops out for a breath of air. Meanwhile, Irene's cooked dinner, cleaned house, and finished a layout section. Giggle! The walkways, stairways, handrails and ladders, including the break wheel and break wheel chain in the second pix are painted Plano parts applied to the weathered Athearn intermodal cars. Part of what keeps John hunched over is that standard for all our cars are nickle-silver wheels with the axle wrapped in solder for extra weight, as shown in the first pix. July 7, 2002.
